Terms and Conditions
Last updated October 9, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and WalletSteer Europa about using WalletSteer. They are short on purpose, and written to be read.
What these terms are
By creating an account or using WalletSteer in any way, you agree to what is written here. If you do not agree with something, the honest answer is not to use the app — and to tell us why, because we would rather fix it.
Throughout, WalletSteer Europa is who you are agreeing with, and WalletSteer is the app itself.
What WalletSteer is
WalletSteer is a personal budgeting app. It keeps track of what is already spoken for — bills, savings targets, obligations — so that what is left over is a number you can trust.
It does not connect to your bank. Every figure it shows is worked out from what you typed in, or from a statement you imported yourself. If what goes in is incomplete or wrong, what comes out will be too.
It is not financial advice
WalletSteer is a tool for organising your own money. It is not a financial adviser, an accountant, or a tax service, and nothing it shows you — including the sentences and summaries it writes — is advice, a recommendation, or a prediction.
Decisions about your money stay entirely yours. Before anything with real consequences, talk to someone qualified.
Your account
A few things we need from you:
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Use a real email address you control — it is how you sign in and how we reach you.
- One account per person. Do not share it, and do not let someone else use it.
- Keep your password and your email inbox secure. Anyone with either can get into your account.
- Tell us at hello@walletsteer.com if you think someone else has got in.
- Do not upload someone else's financial data unless you have their permission.
It is free right now
Using WalletSteer costs nothing today, and we take no payments at all: there is no payment system in the app, and we hold no card details.
Creating an account costs nothing and commits you to nothing. The first 100 people to create an account are founding members: they will never pay for WalletSteer, even after paid plans arrive. The status belongs to the account: it cannot be transferred, and it ends if you delete the account.
If paid plans arrive later, we will publish updated terms covering the price, the billing cycle, and your right to withdraw, and we will ask you plainly before anyone is charged. Nothing will start charging you by itself.
Your data stays yours
Everything you put into WalletSteer — transactions, funds, budgets, labels, notes — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it, and no right to use it for anything beyond running the app for you.
You give us only the technical permission needed to do that: to store your content, process it, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
What you may not do
Please do not:
- Try to break into the service, other people's accounts, or the systems behind them.
- Scrape the app, hammer it with automated requests, or put load on it that a person would not generate.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or copy the app in order to build a competing one.
- Resell access, or offer WalletSteer as part of your own service, without our written agreement.
- Upload anything illegal, or anyone else's data without their permission.
- Use the app for something the law where you live forbids.
Availability
WalletSteer is new and still changing. It can be unavailable, slow, or briefly broken, and we make no uptime promise. Features may change, appear, or be withdrawn while we work out what the app should be.
We will avoid removing something you rely on without warning, and where a change is significant we will tell you before it lands.
Keep your own copies
We back the database up, but we cannot guarantee that data is never lost. Keep the bank statements you import: they are the original record, and WalletSteer is a view of them rather than a replacement for them.
What belongs to us
The app itself — its code, design, wording, and the WalletSteer name and mark — belongs to WalletSteer Europa. Using the app transfers none of it to you, and you may not copy or reuse it beyond what these terms allow.
Third-party services
Some parts of the app rely on other companies, and their own terms apply to the part they provide:
- Google, if you choose to sign in with it.
- Anthropic, for the optional AI category suggestions and written summaries.
- Our hosting, database, and email providers, listed in the Privacy Policy.
We choose them carefully and hold them to contracts, but we do not control them and cannot answer for an outage or a change on their side.
Limits on our responsibility
WalletSteer is provided as it is. Within what the law allows, we are not responsible for money lost, decisions taken, or opportunities missed because of a figure the app showed, an outage, or data that went missing.
Nothing here limits our responsibility for what the law does not let us limit, including fraud and any death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
If you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights stand whatever this section says. These terms cannot take them away.
Ending it
You can stop at any time, for any reason, without telling us why. Ask us to delete your account and we will, within 30 days.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, threatens the service, or is used against someone else. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we shut the service down entirely, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
Changes to these terms
We give you at least 30 days of notice by email before a significant change takes effect. Carrying on with WalletSteer afterwards means you accept the new terms; if you would rather not, delete your account before they start.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by Romanian law and by EU law where it applies. If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you can bring a case in your own courts.
Before it comes to that, write to hello@walletsteer.com — most disputes end there. The European Commission also runs an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
